We got our German Pincsher, Argo, from a breeder in Southern MD, and although we researched and learned about the breed, we were not truly prepared for Argo's strong will and need to dominate. We were use to Cock-a-poo's and they are a far cry from Argo's temperment.

Although we have LOVED Argo from the minute we saw him, we quickly saw that Argo was showing signs of possession aggression with his bone, and he was making us nervous around guests to our home. After speaking to our breeder, it was recommended that we go to AppleJack's Training. After a conversation on the phone with Kyle, and a first visit with Ryan, I felt like a ton of bricks was lifted off my shoulders. I knew right then that, through Applejack's, I would gain the knowledge to be the respected leader, and that Argo would gain the manners and discipline to follow me.

Argo spent 1 1/2 weeks alone with Kyle & Ryan... to learn his commands. After that initial period, I began my long trips from Kingsville MD to Charlotte Hall MD to learn the commands that Argo had been taught and start our onleash training together. Teaching Argo his commands calmed him down, and also gave me the confidence to be the leader. Argo graduated out of the First Phase and we continued in Group Session together. I spent a few months with Applejacks and it was truly the best thing that we could do, for ourselves, as well as for Argo.

Although the trip was a long 1 1/2 hrs for me (on a good day without traffic), I plan on continuing the training this spring. Argo did so well that we are ready to move into the Advanced Training.

I think any type of dog... no matter the personality, would greatly benefit from Applejack's Training. (Owners too!). All dogs have a need to learn good manners, and appropriate behavior and Applejack's was, for us, the best!
